Slightly in a haze of delirium. Food poisoning or stomach bug got me last night. The gruesome details, I shall spare ye.. At one point, my limbs went numb and started changing colors! Breene was like, ok we're going to the hospital. Glad we went! The IV and nausea meds brought me back to life. Got home around 5am, slept til 1pm.
However, yesterday started off a lovely day! The same girl who bought the spiral mini skirt from my shop ended up purchasing the matching corset top & arm sleeves!! I am thrilled that she will have the complete outfit, and that she is a returning customer. Every clothing item I have created so far has sold! Really rather proud of myself. Next outfit is complete & ready to photograph...tho I might not have the energy to model it today. Soon! Did not even realize til I was nearly done sewing, that I created a Rosalia beetle inspired outfit.
Western section shelving passed, yeehaw. Today I shelved sci-fi, passing with flying colors. A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy funnily enough being the first. The only one I missed, while shelved corecitically, was a book with a NEW sticker on the back. This means it is showcased as a new book. NOT on the shelf. Duh.
I am still so thankful for having been hired at the library. I love it. There is a lot to learn. Much more computer oriented than the flower shop. Seems to me like most people within a library are relatively calm folk. How refreshing.
With every fiber of my soul, I wish I could still share songs with my dad. If I could, I would share with him Otava Yo, a Russian folk band I stumbled upon sometime last year. Sharing music is a love language of mine.
On an unrelated note, today I shelved the wild wild Western section of the library! Trickier than one might think...excited for tomorrow to see how I did.
Wow, so much has already happened this year…started my new position at the public library working the circulation desk, sold my first original up-cycled outfit that I designed & created all on my own, and I have a restorative plan in motion for my dental health, something I never thought possible. It’s sad how long I was hurting and neglecting myself with deliberate intent. For years, I was unraveling towards the worst version of who I could be, engaging in dangerous, dishonest behavior. These things always blow up in your face, it’s inevitable.
I need to acquire a bullet journal, or something of the sort, while I’m training at the library. Today I was officially cleared and have full permission to shelve the large font print books :3 I am proud of myself for getting this job without having known anyone on the inside. Everyone I’ve met is kind and genuinely seems happy to be there. Another dream of mine from the yester-years was to become a teacher. Art education was my first major in college. While that never came into fruition, I’m thankful to now be working for an establishment that honors knowledge. And it’s eco-friendly!

Outfits and clothes and shoes have ever enthralled me. When I was 7, my mom taught me how to mend small holes in my clothes. I was a wild child, so I would play hard & get messy. She was like, you're gonna learn to fix that. I’ve used the same purple flower pincushion since. Around 8 or 9 I began cutting up my own tops to make dresses for my dolls. At age 12, my legs grew fast. I cut my jeans into shorts & used the excess material to make cute handbags for myself. Then I would splatter paint them with nail polish. Makes me inner child happy to see myself selling my own creations today. What makes me happy as an eco-conscious adult, is looking back, my designs have always involved upcycling existing clothing items into something new.
Next, I’d like to possibly open an Etsy shop for my paintings & textile creations. Depop seems to be the place for clothes, I think I might have better success on Etsy for art. Interesting to do any of this at all sans social media o.0 but it seems to be working somehow.
My car started!!!! The ol betty seems to be fueled by my hopes and dreams. 2005 Buick LeSabre. While the passenger rear window was mistakenly left down during this abominable snowstorm, all snow is off & out of my car. I can drive to my first day of work tomorrow!
It snowed over 20" today! Not sure the last time I have seen such immesne accumulation in so little time. Tomorrow was supposed to be my first day of orientation at the public library, but now the library will be closed due to the snow storm! Thankful of this, for my car will not start for reasons beyond my comprehension.
Not even 24 hours before 20+ inches of snow began to glitter the ground, a snowbow in the sky colored this pale January afternoon. Similar to a rainbow, the difference being sunlight is refracted through frozen ice crystals in the air to create a visible spectrum of light, as opposed to refraction through liquid water droplets. I also noticed the snowbow create almost a ring around the sun, whereas a rainbow appears in the sky opposite to the sun. Other common names for this wintry phenomena include sundog, white rainbow, or icebow.
Exciting life update: I have been hired at a public library!!! A place for all book worms! Fills me with elation having the opportunity to progress my career towards a path of knowledge.
